Terms & disclaimer

Last updated: October 2026

This app gives general information, not legal advice. It does not create any adviser–client relationship, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional about your own situation.

Where it applies

The content covers employment law in England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland has different rules – see nidirect and the Labour Relations Agency.

Accuracy and figures

We checked the figures and rules against official sources (GOV.UK, Acas, legislation.gov.uk) in October 2026. Employment law changes often – for example, statutory limits such as the weekly pay cap for redundancy pay usually change every April, and parts of the Employment Rights Act 2025 are being introduced in stages through 2026 and 2027. Always check the current position on GOV.UK or with Acas.

The calculator shows statutory minimums only, as an estimate. Your contract, your employer's policies or a collective agreement may give you more. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances.

Your responsibility

You decide what to say and do. Don't rely on this app alone for decisions about your job, money, settlement agreements or legal claims. Time limits for tribunal claims are strict – get advice early.

Recording meetings

Be open about taking notes or using a transcription aid. Secret recording can damage trust and may breach your employer's policies.

Liability

The app is provided free, “as is”, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the information in it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Sponsors

Sponsored listings are clearly labelled. Sponsorship does not affect the guidance in the app, and we do not endorse sponsors' services – check any provider carefully before using them.

No affiliation

This app is independent. It is not connected with, or endorsed by, Acas, GOV.UK, Citizens Advice, any trade union or any employer.
